LOOKING FOR NO-LAND

This series arose from search of the cover for the jazz trio “No-Land trio” first album. Being monotypes accomplished with oil on paper, intuition and improvisation were of crucial importance so as to look for the colours and textures.

However, it was a genuine exercise of synaesthesia and empathy with the members of the band that enabled the graphic representation of the intricacy that these musicians convey through the abstraction of their music.

"Looking for no-land" was exhibited in the eighth edition of "Z Jornadas de Arte Contemporáneo" in Montalbán de Córdoba (2019), to accompany the event "Jazz, Texture and Sound", a concert-talk-exhibition in which the members of the group "No-Land Trio" and I were able to explain the similarities between the creative process of the musical piece in jazz and the art work and how these common links were used to make the cover of the disk.
