LAURA AGUILAR. ARTE Y JOYA

BIO

Laura Aguilar was born in Seville in September 1993.

In this environment of light, sun and color, she began her artistic career, first training at the School of Art in Seville (Chile Pavilion) doing the Bachelor of Art, which will open the door directly to the career of Fine Arts.

In this career (which she will also carry out in the Andalusian capital) she would acquire a decisive academic training through drawing, sculpture and painting of the naked body and will increasingly transform that realism into an interpretation of her most intimate emotions and experiences, opting for contributing the greatest honesty in her works, until reaching abstraction.

Both in her artistic discourse and in the aesthetics of her work we find a strong architectural influence (acquired by her father) and a great orientation towards intimacy and detail, almost always opting for warm colors and shapes linked to the maternal nest.

Studying her degree, she was amazed by the possibilities offered by metal in sculpture and decided to specialize in jewelry, going to study the Superior Degree in Artistic Gold and Silverwork at the Dionisio Ortiz School of Art in Córdoba, a city that welcomes some of the best goldsmiths of the last century for their enormous jewelry tradition.

There she has been forming during two years, applying her artistic discourse to that "micro-sculpture" that is jewelry.

She currently resides in Donostia-San Sebastián, where she continues her artistic career through both painting and jewelry, in order to continue transmitting and sharing her vocation with the expression of herself.
